20 Portraits of General José Antonio Páez (1972)

Alfredo Boulton: Portraits of José Antonio Páez, Caracas, Macanao Editions, 1984, 56 illustrated pages.

Availing himself of the most modern techniques known at the time, Páez had many photographs of himself taken in New York. These images were afterwards transferred to stone by D’Avignon and Haas and were also used by Sir Robert Ker Porter for his water color portraits, by Pedro Castillo and Lewis B. Adams for their oil paintings and by Christiano Junior, who made use of them to reproduce his own photographs in Buenos Aires. All these works constitute an iconographical material of utmost importance, thanks to the excellent and accurate way in which they were reproduced.
