Monographs

The investigations of Alfredo Boulton on some of the most significant Venezuelan artists of the Twentieth Century represent a first hand testimony. They picture the viewpoint of a friend who shared their artistic restlessness, their vision of the country and time in history they lived in, amidst the harsh dictatorship of Juan Vicente Gómez and the democratic dreams of a small community awakening into the ideals of modernness. Besides, they represent an extension of his main historiographic work: the history of painting in Venezuela, including the works of some almost unknown celebrities of the Venezuelan colonial period, as well as, those of artists such as Camille Pissarro, during his two year stay in Venezuela.
