Boulton’s career as an Art Critic began in 1934, with a series of short articles in which he briefly described the activity of Venezuelan artists widely committed to the creation of a new essentially American iconography. He also outlined some European movements of major worldwide influence. Among these articles is the first essay done in Venezuela dedicated to the Surrealist movement.
